Campground News We are almost done completely rebuilding the entire campground. ALL of our full-hookups now have 50/30 amp electric service and cable TV. Last year, we introduced basic concrete patios in the completely refurbished "D" section. They were so popular that we are now adding concrete patios to 50 additional RV sites. We were also in need of more BIG RIG sites, so we are adding the "F" section by late June 2008 which will include 24 of our largest BIG RIG sites ever. And now, even more BIG NEWS! We are installing a GIGANTIC Jumping Pillow, the latest, hottest exciting recreational experience available today! READ ON... As always, there are a lot of improvements in the works. Page down to "Detailed Construction Update" at the bottom of this page for an up-to-date progress report! BIG NEWS #1: Announcing SUNSET ACRES! The first of
the
BIG NEWS items this year is the addition of the SUNSET ACRES section to the resort.
SUNSET ACRES is a section of 24 BIG RIG pull-thru sites that HAVE IT ALL!
12 of these sites are designated PREMIUM and 12 are designated UPGRADED.
SUNSET ACRES is also our most PRIVATE and quiet RV section as it is located "at
the end of the park". See the next section on more details on our Patio
Sites. BIG NEWS #2: Three Kinds of RV Patio Sites! The second of the BIG NEWS items this year is the addition of a lot more PATIOS on RV sites. Last year, we built 12 RV sites with BASIC concrete patios. They were an instant hit! For 2008, we are building 3 distinct levels of RV sites with concrete patios. We will be adding not only more basic patios, but also patios with site lighting, lawn swings, premium picnic tables and an upgraded campfire setting. In total, more than 60 of our RV sites will have PATIOS. The levels of patio site amenities are as follows:

BIG NEWS #3: The Jumping Pillow! The third of the BIG NEWS items this year is addition of the our GIGANTIC Jumping Pillow. Jumping Pillows, originating in Australia, are bouncy air-filled pillows that are like a huge trampoline. Our new Jumping Pillow, slated for opening on July 1, 2008, is house sized at over 2,000 square feet! Our Jumping Pillow will be supervised, and there is an extra charge for using it. It will be located by the fishing pond. This first phase of the Outdoor Recreation Center will also house rental fleet of pedal carts. Pedal cart riders will enjoy riding the new pedal cart track surrounding the fishing pond. OTHER NEWS Cable TV is now included with all Full-Hookup RV Sites Our satellite-based cable-TV offerings are now included with ALL of our full-hookup sites at no extra charge. Sorry, but cable TV is not available on Water/Electric or Tent sites. WiFi is still FREE! Our WiFi network is constantly being upgraded. With additional repeaters installed, WiFi should be available at ALL campsites. Just ask for your FREE WiFi access tickets at check-in! The INDOOR Recreation Center Our INDOOR Recreation Center is completely finished now. We have installed premium, non-skid pool decking around our indoor pool and spa, moved the fitness center to the upper level and added 24-hour key-pad entry to the fitness center, and finished the conference room and upstairs bathroom. Pirates GOLD is even MORE Plentiful and REWARDING! Digging for GOLD has been a HUGE HIT since it was first discovered in 2005. Today, kids of all ages are coming to the camping resort ready to dig up their share of the loot! Actually, they can exchange their diggings (coins) for real merchandise in our store (25 cents per coin)! And NOW a NEW GOLD COINS are being dug up, too. These new, larger coins are worth $1.00 each in merchandise in our store. More LATE NIGHT SWIMS this Year! The new indoor pool and spa were a smash hit last summer... and it seems that the late night swims are a delight for all! We will have a late night swim on most Saturday nights. At 9:00 pm, the lights will be turned low, the children will be excused, and the adults will have the pool and spa to themselves for a late night swim from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Detailed Construction Update (This report as of late February 2008) SUNSET ACRES is scheduled for completion by July 1st. Water, electric and cable TV site services are in the ground. Sewer line work will resume when winter breaks, hopefully by March 1st. After the sewer lines are installed and the sites are compacted, the crew will move on to PATIO site building in the existing park. Work is expected to resume on SUNSET ACRES by mid-to-late April. When work resumes, sites, roads and site pads will be compacted once again. Then the roads and site pads will be graveled. Once this is done, it's on to PATIO building in SUNSET ACRES. We would like all PATIO work finished by mid-May. Then it's on to site finishing and landscaping. Once the sites are grassed, they will be opened up for use. PATIO Construction for the "A" BIG RIG section is expected to begin in early-to-mid March. Our goal is to have the "A" section PATIOS completed by opening day on April 18th. Construction on the "B" section sites that are getting PATIOS (B45-B50) will take place concurrently with the "A" BIG RIG section. |
