Group-Friendly Area Attractions

The Watkins Glen-Corning area is well known for a large number and variety of attractions.  Many of these attractions are ideal for group visits.

Waterfalls & Parks.  The most notable natural features of the Finger Lakes regions are the lakes and waterfalls.  Several state and local parks features magnificent waterfalls.  Heading the list is the Watkins Glen Gorge, featuring 19 waterfalls along a 1 ˝ mile well-maintained trail boasting of 832 steps along the way.  Other waterfalls in the area worth visiting include Taughannock Falls, Buttermilk Falls, Chequaga Falls, Eagle Cliff Falls, and more.

Wineries & Vineyards.  The beautiful, deep Finger Lakes create an ideal environment for growing grapes.  There are more than 30 vineyards and wineries within an hour of the campground.  Clink on "Links" to connect to the websites of several prominent wineries.

Captain Bill’s Seneca Lakes Cruises.  Both sightseeing and dinner cruises sail from Watkins Glen from May through October.  Sailings are limited after Labor Day but sailing for groups of 30 or more people can be scheduled for a date of your choosing.  Clink on "Links" to connect to their website.

Corning Museum of Glass.  The Corning Museum of Glass is home to the world’s most comprehensive and celebrated collection of glass, as well as the Hot Glass Show a live, narrated demonstration of hot glassblowing offered all day.  A museum store offers a wide variety of glass that you can purchase and take home.  Clink on "Links" to connect to their website.

Wings of Eagles Discovery Center.  The Wings of Eagles Discovery Center collects, maintains, exhibits and flies vintage and historic military aircraft.  Clink on "Links" to connect to their website.

Rockwell Museum of Western Art.  The Rockwell Museum of Western Art is “The best of the West in the East!” featuring American Western and Native American art.  Art is exhibited by themes of the West:  Cowboy, Indian, Horse, Buffalo, and Wilderness.  Click on "Links" to connect to their website.

Watkins Glen International Racetrack.  As America’s original road course, WGI today hosts a NASCAR Sprint Cup Race in August and an Indy Race in September, along with many other smaller events.  The “Thunder Road Tour” is a session where you can drive your own vehicle on the racetrack.  Of course, times are limited for this adventure.  Clink on "Links" to connect to their website.

Golf Courses & Restaurants.  There are several golf courses in the area as well as a variety of restaurants that can handle groups.
