Group-Friendly Area Attractions The Watkins Glen-Corning area is well known for a large number and variety of attractions. Many of these attractions are ideal for group visits. Waterfalls & Parks. The most notable natural features of the Finger Lakes regions are the lakes and waterfalls. Several state and local parks features magnificent waterfalls. Heading the list is the Watkins Glen Gorge, featuring 19 waterfalls along a 1 ˝ mile well-maintained trail boasting of 832 steps along the way. Other waterfalls in the area worth visiting include Taughannock Falls, Buttermilk Falls, Chequaga Falls, Eagle Cliff Falls, and more. Wineries & Vineyards. The beautiful, deep Finger Lakes create an ideal environment for growing grapes. There are more than 30 vineyards and wineries within an hour of the campground. The Corning Museum of Glass is home to the world’s most comprehensive and celebrated collection of glass, as well as the Hot Glass Show a live, narrated demonstration of hot glassblowing offered all day. The Rockwell Museum of Western Art is “The best of the West in the East!” featuring American Western and Native American art. As America’s original road course, WGI today hosts a NASCAR Sprint Cup Race in August and an Indy Race in September, along with many other smaller events.
