Kamping Kabins and Kottages"Lodging the KOA Way"Camping in a KOA Kamping Kabin or Kamping Kottage is family-friendly, easy and fun! Kamping Kabins are the clear economical choice, but when you want it all, then you've just got to have a Kamping Kottage! The popularity of our all our lodging is exploding... especially for get-togethers and family reunions. If you have never experienced "Lodging the KOA Way", you're in for a treat! Our ever increasing demand for Kamping Kabins and Kottages comes primarily from repeat campers and word-of-mouth referrals. We have the largest inventory of KOA Kamping Kottages in the Northeast USA, and a large number of Kabins as well. Our inventory includes:
What is a Kamping Kabin? Essentially, a Kamping Kabin is a cozy, secure, comfortable sleeping room or rooms. A 1-room Kabin sleeps up to 4 people while a 2-room Kabin sleeps up to 6 people. All of our Kamping Kabins have electrical outlets and are equipped with air conditioners. Heaters are also provided on cool nights. Each of our Kamping Kabins also have a porch swing, a picnic table, a charcoal grill and a campfire ring. Water is conveniently located nearby. Bathroom and shower facilities are located nearby at our two ultra-modern squeaky-clean bathhouses.
What to Bring from Home While beds and mattresses are provided, you will need to bring bedding (sleeping bags or bed linens), cooking and eating utensils and personal items. If anything is forgotten, our KOA convenience store probably has what you need. (Even emergency "bedding packs" can be rented if needed). Why Vacation in a KOA Kamping Kabin instead of a Motel Room? Vacationing in a KOA Kamping Kabin provides a family-friendly camping experience. When you take your family on a camping vacation, you spend quality time together in a wholesome way. You don't just sit in you motel room in the evening watching TV. If you are a first time camper, you will quickly discover, as you stroll around the campground, that campers are very friendly. As the stars come out, you'll be making memories as your family roasts marshmallows around a campfire. When is the last time you did that? When you're not touring the spectacular southern Finger Lakes region, you'll enjoy our first class camping facilities including our NEW HEATED indoor swimming pool, our FREE fishing pond and our 92 acres of beautiful woods and streams. You can also play mini-golf, try out our pedal karts, play in our arcade room and much more. If you still have time to watch a little TV, we offer two options. Several of our Kamping Kabins are equipped with cable TV jacks. If you plan to bring along a TV, ask for a cable-equipped Kabin when you make your reservation. You can also watch a FREE movie in our movie room. We show current, popular, family-oriented movies (no R-rated movies) nightly. (These are also available on our cable TV system). What is a Kamping Kottage? Kamping Kottages were new for the 2000 season at the Watkins Glen KOA. We now have two versions of the Kamping Kottage. For those of you who would like more of the comforts of home, the deluxe units come with a bathroom with a shower, as well as a kitchen. The kitchen area includes a refrigerator, microwave oven, stovetop, sink, and table with chairs. There are beds for five people--a futon in the front room that pulls out to a double bed, and a full size bed in the back room with a bunk over the bed. No need to bring dishes or cooking utensils--we supply those. But you will need to bring your own bedding. There is also a TV and DVD in the Kamping Kottage. Almost as complete as the deluxe unit are the standard Kamping Kottages, which we began offering in 2001. These units have a bathroom with a shower, but no kitchen. There are beds for four people--a futon that folds down to a double bed and a set of bunk beds. This unit also comes with a TV and DVD, as well as a small refrigerator and coffee maker. As with our Kamping Kabins, all of the Kottages come with a picnic table outside, a porch swing, as well as a charcoal grill and fire ring. The "Plus" Kottages All the available choices probably make it a little difficult to make up one's mind, but now we have added "plus" to the mix. After we had built our first 6 Kottages, we were told one thing consistently... "make them a little bigger". We did, so our last 7 units have been "super-sized", and we didn't stop there... we added large side decks as well. Although our "plus" units are our newest and cost a little more, they are also the most sought-after and requested.
